Health Sector

Health is a vitally important and increasingly demanding sector, for which Q-Plan offers an integrated range of services covering the totality of organisations and institutions involved (such as hospitals, diagnostic centres, laboratories, production and distribution of medical devices companies etc). A brief summary of the services provided are:

  • deployment of Management Systems for the certification of: i) Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), ii) Environmental Management Systems (EMAS/ISO 14001, iii) Occupational Health and Safety Management System according to ELOT 1801, iv) HACCP for the Safety Management of foods and supply chain in general, v) Information Security Management according to ISO 27001 etc)
  • deployment of Management Quality Systems for Laboratories for accreditation purposes (ISO 17025, ISO 15189)
  • deployment of Hospital Accreditation Systems (International Joint Commission Standards),
  • development of restructuring studies for the maximisation of hospital’s efficiency and effectiveness concerning the utilisation of building space and facilities, and the optimisation of the overall services provided,
  • development of preparation studies for the implementation of Environmental Management, to review the status of the Hospital, identify existing and potential problems, dysfunctions and incompatibilities concerning its facilities and existing practices. These are compared with the corresponding legislative requirements, to produce a report with recommendations for direct improvement for the facilities, operations and practices,
  • development of preparation studies regarding Occupational Health and Safety, to review the status of the Hospital, identify existing and potential problems, dysfunctions and incompatibilities concerning its facilities and existing practices. These are compared with the relevant legislative requirements, to produce a report with recommendations for direct improvement for the facilities, operations and practices (for example management of dangerous solid and liquid wastes, laboratorial wastes etc),
  • development of preparation studies regarding Food Safety i) to assess all relevant areas (such as kitchens, restaurants and refectories), ii) to evaluate the processes involved in the collection, stock and supply of food, to identify critical points for food safety in relations to the particularities of patients, iii) to identify potential problems, dysfunctions and incompatibilities within the facilities and the adopted practices against the good practices of hygiene (GMP’s, GHP’s) and the existing legislative requirements. These are summarised in a report of recommended changes for the improvement of the facilities and practices, and the conformity with the relevant legislative regulations,
  • development of preparation studies regarding laboratories management, to review the status of the Laboratory, identify existing and potential problems, dysfunctions and incompatibilities concerning its facilities and existing practices. These are compared with the good laboratory practices (GLP’s) and the relevant legislative requirements, to produce a report with recommendations for direct improvement for the facilities, operations and practices.
